0 Pro AudioSpectrum 16 Installation
0 ══════════════════════════════
1 Welcome to the Pro AudioSpectrum 16 Install Utility.
2 This program will install the software to access your audio board
2 and play audio with your games and applications. It will modify
2 your 'autoexec.bat' and 'config.sys' files to load the appropriate
2 driver when your system is started.
3 If you want to select a different directory, press the BACKSPACE key
3 to erase the name shown below. Then type the name of the directory
3 where you want to store the install files. When the directory shown
3 below is correctly named, press ENTER to continue the install.
4 THIS IS A TEST OF THE DMA/IRQ SETTINGS.
5 Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight the item and press ENTER
5 to select.
6 The installation program is ready to copy files into the directory
6 shown below, which it will create on your hard disk.
7 These are the values for installing your audio board. The highlighted
7 field is your current selection.
8 If you want to change any data, use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to select
8 and press ENTER. To start installation, select 'Complete Changes' and
8 press ENTER.
9 Select the DMA value that you want. The default DMA value is '3'.
10 Select the IRQ value that you want. The default IRQ value is '5'.
11 If you select 'YES', your 'autoexec.bat' file will be modified and the
11 old copy will be saved into 'autoexec.old'. If you select 'NO', your
11 'autoexec.bat' will not be modified.
12 Use the UP and DOWN arrows and press ENTER to select a value.
12 Press ESC to cancel.
13 If you select 'YES', your 'config.sys' file will be modified and the
13 old copy will be saved into 'config.old'. If you select 'NO', your
13 'config.sys' will not be modified.
14 Installation Information:
15 You have finished installing your audio board.
15 Reboot your system, after which you can start
15 using the Pro AudioSpectrum.
16 Cannot perform board test.
17 Cannot find file:
18 WARNING: You cannot successfully install your
18 CD-ROM Drive and/or Pro AudioSpectrum if the
18 file named above is missing. Please check your
18 install disk for missing files. Press F3 to
18 exit.
19 WARNING: The Pro AudioSpectrum may not have
19 been installed properly since you did not choose
19 to modify 'config.sys'. For configuration
19 changes you should allow the install program to
19 modify 'config.sys'.
20 No changes were made by this install program.
21 Cannot copy SOURCE to the same TARGET Directory.
22 Press F3 to exit.
23 The Pro AudioSpectrum cannot be initialized.
23 Try to do the install again. If you cannot
23 succeed after a few tries, your board may
23 be defective.
24 Insert the next disk and press ENTER:
25 The file 'filelist.txt' has invalid format.
26 This file is missing and cannot be copied.
27 This file is required for unarchiving the
27 shipped files.
28 The installation program detects that the
28 directory shown below already exists.
29 Press ENTER to continue.

31 If you select 'YES', the installation files will be copied to the
31 install directory which you have specified.
31 If you select 'NO', the installation files will NOT be copied.
32 If you select 'YES' , the DMA and IRQ settings will be tested.
32 The test will not be performed if you select 'NO'.
33 If you select 'YES', the Pro AudioSpectrum joystick port will be
33 enabled. If you select 'NO', the joystick will be disabled.
33 The default value is 'YES'.
34 Select the IRQ value that you want. The default IRQ value is '7'.
35 WARNING: Do not mix old files with new files.
35 Press ENTER to continue. Press F3 to exit.
36 ATTENTION: You are attempting to select
36 an IRQ other than 2, 3, 5, or 7.
36 Some software will NOT run if an IRQ
36 other than 2, 3, 5, or 7 is selected.
37 SUCCESS: A sound file will be played and it will automatically
37 stop by itself. Press ENTER to continue the installation.
38 FAILURE: A sound file will continuous loop and will not stop
38 playing which might indicate the IRQ is in conflict. Press ESC
38 to return to the configuration menu to change the IRQ setting.
39 FAILURE: A sound file does not play, i.e., no sound, which
39 might indicate the DMA is in conflict. Press ESC to return to
39 the configuration menu to change the DMA setting.
40 If all attempts fail, you may have a defective board.
41 Software has not been installed in the default:
42 directory. You must install the software BEFORE
42 setting the hardware or run the install in the
42 directory where you installed the software.
43 Select the DMA value that you want. The default DMA value is '1'.
